To blog, or not to blog...

Well, it is official. I have a blog. It seems like everyone has a blog these days, so I thought I would give it a shot.

It seems like a great place to share tips and tricks for training, thoughts on training and racing and maybe even a training log entry or two. It is always nice to have a little accountability for your training...

Have a question on training? Please ask? We can all learn together.

Happy Trails,

Coach Jenny

Jenny,

I am running in the Mini this year. In the past I followed Hal Higdon's 12 week program. This year, I thought I might change things up. I notice that yours, Hal's and CARA's plans are very different. Is it just philosophy? Or maybe the different plans cater to different types of runners?

Hi... That is great! The OneAmerica Indy Mini Marathon is a fantastic event. To answer your question, yes all programs vary in distance, frequency, intensity. My programs emphasize running easy days, long days, race-pace runs and speed if you have run the distance prior. I tailor programs for people that want to finish but also continue to cross-train and strength train and runners who want to improve on their time. I suggest looking at programs that work with your lifestyle, interests and goals. That way, you will enjoy training, running the race and improve on your performance too! Thanks for writing.
